Job Summary
Flight and Maintenance Safety Intern supports Piedmont Airlines' safety programs. Responsibilities include assisting with Aviation Safety Reports, reviewing ASAP and FRMP activities, researching safety concerns, creating presentations and reviewing manuals, assisting in publishing Safety Bulletins and Safety Awareness newsletters, supporting FOQA program administration and maintenance, analyzing LOSA observations, preparing data and reports for Safety Assurance groups within the SMS, and interacting with Flight and Maintenance Departments. The role involves data entry, data analysis, project development, and some travel. Requires growing knowledge of FARs/OSHA regulations and airline safety procedures, and the ability to work in a standard office environment with a flexible schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of progress towards an undergraduate degree in safety or aviation/ aeronautical science
- Proof of High School or GED completion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office Suite skills
- Organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, solve problems, and set and meet deadlines
- General knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, and procedures regarding airline safety
