Job Summary
Load, unload, and move materials within the plant, yard, or work site using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks. Inspect deliveries for damage, verify items against purchase orders, and record inventory in the system. Label, store, and rotate stock while ensuring materials are safely accessible. Transport raw materials and finished goods to production lines or workstations, and pick, stage, and package items for outgoing shipments. Coordinate with logistics to load trucks and containers safely, and maintain cleanliness in storage areas. Operate material handling equipment and report discrepancies, low stock levels, or unsafe conditions. Follow OSHA safety protocols and complete required logs and reports.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Must be insurable by the company's insurance carrier
- Must be bondable
- Must have regular attendance on the job
- Ability to operate and certify for an industrial forklift truck
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to read and understand bills of materials and differentiate between parts that are similar in nature
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must have the ability to work effectively with company personnel and customers
- Must be able to lift and move up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to clearly hear voices or alarms, bells, and other noise
Desired Qualifications
- At least one (1) year of relevant experience in a forward-thinking manufacturing environment
