Job Summary
Load, unload, and move materials within the plant, yard, or work site using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks. Inspect deliveries for damage, verify items against purchase orders, and record inventory in the system. Label, store, and rotate stock using FIFO or LIFO systems to ensure materials remain accessible. Transport raw materials, parts, or finished goods to production lines and stage items for outgoing shipments. Operate material handling equipment, maintain cleanliness in storage areas, and report discrepancies or unsafe conditions. Comply with OSHA safety standards and follow lifting procedures while managing inventory management systems.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to read and understand bills of materials and differentiate between parts that are similar in nature
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to work effectively with company personnel and customers
- Must be insurable by the company's insurance carrier
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must have regular attendance on the job
- Must be bondable
- Must be able to operate and certify for an industrial forklift truck10k
