Job Summary

Review job tickets, evaluate equipment needs, and prepare press settings for flexographic printing runs. Execute full make-ready functions including plate mounting, ink mixing, and web threading while operating multi-color presses to maintain registration and color density. Install and adjust press parts, conduct quality inspections, and monitor production against schedules to minimize downtime. Troubleshoot mechanical issues like ghosting and tracking, perform preventative maintenance and wash-up, and accurately log job metrics for cost accounting. Maintain a safe, organized work environment and adhere to all safety regulations while collaborating with the team to meet tight deadlines.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a flexographic press operator
  • Thorough understanding of the entire printing process, from set-up through clean-up
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and densitometers
  • Excellent color perception
  • Ability to maintain color consistency throughout production runs
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to follow standard work instructions
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to perform equipment maintenance
  • Ability to troubleshoot press and mechanical issues independently
