Job Summary
Flexographic Press Operator (2nd Shift) responsible for safely setting up, operating, and maintaining a multi-station flexographic press to produce high-quality print designs and lettering on flexible plastic film. Duties include changing rollers, adjusting doctor blades, installing cutting dies, and configuring temperature, speed, curing system, and tension via touchscreen and controls; ensuring accurate material registration; loading inks and chemicals; performing start-up checks and routine inspections; cleaning and maintaining the press; monitoring operations and replenishing inks/chemicals to sustain production; recording production, quality, and inventory data; using precision measuring tools; preparing material for conversion and inspecting print heads for defects; forklift/scissor-lift material handling; cross-training on additional equipment; and adhering to safety and company policies. The role is based in Cranbury, NJ with ITW Specialty Films ensuring equal opportunity employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in the setup, operation, and troubleshooting industrial machinery that continuously processes materials is preferred
- Experience working with inks, printing processes, viscosity, hazardous materials (HAZMAT), and chemical weighing or mixing is strongly desired
- Material handling experience, including operating forklifts and scissor lifts
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Basic experience using common hand tools and measuring devices
- Strong math and measurement skills, including proficiency with decimals and fractions, reading tape measures and scales, and understanding the metric system (grams, kilograms) with the ability to convert to standard units
- Ability to read and apply formulas accurately
- Ability to work safely and independently with minimal supervision in a manufacturing environment
- Post-offer drug screen and background check
