Job Summary
Read job orders, load dies, and install print cylinders to operate the flexographic press for label and packaging production. Fill ink pans, mix colors to maintain viscosity, and adjust speed and alignment as necessary. Start the press, engage cylinders, and run approval strips while inspecting for imperfections like register issues or ink starvation. Clean plates, cylinders, and dies, performing daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance. Keep work areas organized and clear. Requires high school diploma or GED, one to three years of flexographic experience, and ability to read measurements and interpret scales. Onsite training provided with opportunities for career advancement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Must be able to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- One to three years related experience and/or training
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of flexographic printing press experience preferred
