Job Summary
Two-person full-time Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School: married couples reside on-campus in student homes, overseeing a group of about 8–13 students, providing daily supervision, mentorship, routines, wellness support, transportation to activities, and spiritual activities; initially nine days on duty followed by three off, with potential transition to the same group’s Placed Houseparent role. Responsibilities include creating a structured family-like environment, budgeting, reporting, driving students to activities, leading devotions and Sunday Chapel, and actively engaging in developmental and recreational activities. Qualifications emphasize youth experience, a valid U.S. driver's license with van certification readiness, a high school diploma or GED, physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and that both spouses are legally married for at least two years and aged 27 or older; role requires integrity and professionalism and living on-campus with housing and meals provided during duty.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role modeling for students
- Two-person, on-campus live-in role
- Proficiency in daily supervision, mentorship, scheduling, and budgeting
- Capacity to administer medications and ensure student wellness
- Ability to drive students to activities and lead developmental/recreational planning
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel attendance
- High school diploma or GED required
- Relocation assistance provided
- Planned schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with transition to a Placed Houseparent role
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
