Job Summary
Flex Houseparents are a two-person, full-time role for legally married couples who reside on campus in student homes to provide care, supervision, and guidance for approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning engaging developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The position starts with a nine-on/three-off schedule, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Ability to participate in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Relocation assistance and paid training provided
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
