Job Summary
Two-person married-couple Full-time Flex Houseparents live on-campus in student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, daily devotions, and Sunday Chapel, as well as overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a permanent houseparent in a specified student home. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
