Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for about 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning to a placed houseparent role with the same group of students. Schedule initially comprises nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with relocation benefits and paid training provided. Both spouses must complete individual applications and meet requirements including being married for at least two years, both spouses aged 27+, and a driver’s license. High school diploma or GED required; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
