Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two married spouses) reside on Milton Hershey School’s on-campus student homes, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and structure for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule initially involves nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768), comprehensive medical/dental/vision, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid training, and PTO. Requires experience with youth, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and both spouses completing individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
