Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside in on-campus student homes and, as a two-person married couple, provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from initial nine-days-on/three-days-off schedules to a stable placed-home assignment with the same student group. Benefits include salary of $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple), comprehensive medical/dental/vision, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid training, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
