Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) live on campus at Milton Hershey School in Harmony, PA, providing supervision, mentorship, and care for a group of 8–13 students in a family-like residential setting. Responsibilities include daily supervision, supervising routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading development activities, daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from a rotating nine-days-on/three-days-off schedule to a placed houseparent role. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768), comprehensive health/dental/vision insurance, retirement plans, relocation assistance, paid training, and paid time off. Requires high school diploma or GED, youth-work experience, and an officially married two-person couple willing to complete separate applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
