Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person married couple) live on-campus at Milton Hershey School, supervising 8–13 students in a student home. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from nine-on/nine-off scheduling to a placed houseparent model. Requires building a structured, family-like environment and a high level of commitment from both spouses; benefits include salary per person, comprehensive insurance, retirement options, relocation assistance, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Two spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
