Job Summary
Welcome parents and children daily as the nursery's primary contact via email and telephone, while managing parent communications, responding to surveys, and processing sessional change requests. Own the operational management of the nursery, including budgeting, procurement, invoicing, and creating team rotas to maintain a 95% occupancy target. Lead the Nursery Operations team, overseeing kitchen and cleaning standards, liaising with facilities for repairs, and ensuring compliance with H&S policies and Right to Work verifications. Cover Family Rooms for absences and provide lunch coverage, while assisting with marketing newsletters and Family Club events. Work flexible shifts between 6:30am and 7:30pm, including out-of-hours meetings, within a 150-place nursery in Hove, East Sussex.
Required Qualifications
- Higher education qualification or relevant professional experience
- Experience either in a customer facing role or an operational role
- Proven track record of prioritising and multi-tasking under pressure
- Experienced, and competent, user of ICT systems (including Mac computers)
- Must be competent in Google suite, specifically navigating Google Sheets
- Experience of budget management and procurement
- A solution-focused decision maker
- A positive, can-do attitude
- Able to communicate and influence clearly using a variety of techniques (oral and in writing)
- A rigorous, structured and organised approach
- Able to reflect on oneself, respond positively and improve
- Happy to work an early/ late shift pattern and the occasional weekend/ evening
- High energy brought to every task you take on
- Able to manage workload and time effectively to deliver desired results
