Job Summary
Conduct assessments and diagnoses for speech, language, voice, and fluency needs, then develop and carry out individualized treatment plans tailored to each resident's functional goals. Teach techniques to improve sound production and fluency while counseling families on coping strategies for swallowing and communication disorders. Build genuine, trust-based relationships with residents and their caregivers through compassionate instruction and active listening. Compile thorough progress notes and adjust therapies as needed, ensuring all documentation meets approved medical procedures. Requires current Speech Language Pathologist license, CPR certification, and physical stamina for lifting up to 50 lbs. This flexible, as-needed role covers skilled nursing, assisted living, and rehabilitation services across multiple sites.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited therapy program
- 2–3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current Speech Language Pathologist state license
- CPR certification
