Flex Retail Security Officer

On-Call Flex Security Officer providing supplemental security coverage in a retail environment, filling shifts due to call-offs, vacations, staffing shortages, and peak business needs. Not regularly scheduled and does not guarantee hours. Must provide available days/times and report to work if needed. Perform duties including control of entrances and movement, building/perimeter patrols, escorting material/personnel, inspecting security and fire exposures, and completing required reports. Maintain awareness of surroundings, establish working relationships with customers, local law enforcement and fire departments, and adhere to post orders. Stay professional in image and customer service, monitor cameras, stay informed of emergency policies/procedures, and communicate issues to Security Supervisor. Proactive, adaptable, reliable, and able to work with a sense of urgency; ability to operate within ADA considerations and align with company safety and loss prevention processes. Skills include strong customer service, clear communication, teamwork, and the ability to respond to alarms/incidents; knowledge of life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV, elevators, and access doors. While duties may vary by post, this role emphasizes on-site security operations, reporting, and adherence to security protocols.
