Flex Retail Security Officer

Job Summary
On-Call Flex Security Officer provides security coverage for a retail environment with shifts offered on short notice and no guaranteed hours. Responsibilities include controlling entrances, patrolling premises, escorting materials and personnel, inspecting security and fire exposures, monitoring cameras, responding to alarms, reporting via Daily Activity Reports and incident logs, and maintaining professional customer service. Must be adaptable, reliable, and able to communicate effectively with customers, law enforcement, fire departments, and security supervisors. Must stay current with post orders and safety procedures, and be prepared to report to post in full uniform when called. Additional duties may vary by post and location; positions emphasize loss prevention, safety, and compliance with applicable regulations. Knowledge of life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV, and access control is expected, and the role requires teamwork, urgency, and a professional image.
Required Qualifications
- Be on time and report to post in full uniform
- Maintain professional image that includes greeting customers, visitors and employees in a polite and friendly manner
- Patrol physical property or maintain fixed post position
- Monitor cameras or equipment
- Complete Daily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, Incident Reports and all relevant reports
- Knowledge of life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV system
- Understand emergency policies, procedures and regulations
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions
- Excellent verbal and written communications
