Flex Retail Security Officer

Job Summary
Provide security detail as outlined in post orders; establish relationships with customers, local law enforcement and fire departments; security personnel will maintain awareness of surroundings and report activity; maintain a professional image and deliver excellent customer service. Responsibilities include controlling entrances and pedestrian/vehicle movement, patrolling buildings and perimeters, escorting material and personnel, inspecting security and fire exposures, completing required reports, monitoring cameras, knowing emergency procedures, and adhering to post orders and training/compliance guidelines. Also perform special assignments as assigned and communicate issues to the Security Supervisor. Proficient in coordinating with the customer and team to ensure safety and loss prevention.
Required Qualifications

- Establish working relationships with customers, local law enforcement and fire departments
- Maintain professional image and excellent customer service
- Control of entrances and movement of pedestrian and vehicle traffic
- Patrol of buildings and perimeters
- Escort of material and personnel
- Inspection of security and fire exposures
- Special assignments
- Be on time and report to post in full uniform
- Maintain knowledge of post orders and general information distributed by the customer and AFS
- Patrol or fixed post position with vigilance
- Monitor cameras or equipment as outlined in post orders
- Know emergency policies and procedures to respond to alarms and incidents
- Complete Daily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, Incident Reports and related reports
- Make recommendations to management on safety and loss prevention processes
- Knowledge of life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV systems and related equipment
- Ensure continuous operation of elevators and access doors
- Ensure training and compliance guidelines are met as outlined by AFS and regulatory bodies
- Communicate with Security Supervisor about issues or changes
- Maintain strong customer service and teamwork skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
