Flex Retail Security Officer

Flex On-Call Retail Security Officer provides security coverage in a retail environment by filling shifts due to call-offs, vacations, staffing shortages, and peak business needs. The role is not regularly scheduled and does not guarantee hours; officers must provide available days and times and report to work if needed. Responsibilities include controlling entrances and movement, patrolling buildings and perimeters, escorting material and personnel, inspecting security and fire exposures, and handling special assignments. Maintain professional image, greet customers and staff, stay updated on post orders, monitor for suspicious activity, report incidents and emergencies, complete Daily Activity Reports and incident logs, and coordinate with Security Supervisor. Skills include strong customer service, vigilance, teamwork, clear communication, urgency, and adherence to safety procedures. Training and compliance with applicable guidelines are required; familiarity with life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV, and access control is expected, with knowledge of life safety policies and procedures.
