Job Summary
Obtain medical information, vital signs, and diagnostic test results to prepare for physician examinations, then assist with treatments by handing instruments, providing dressings, and preparing equipment per infection control policies. Administer prescribed care treatments within scope of practice while ensuring continuity through scheduling tests, relaying results, and obtaining prior authorizations. Serve as a patient advocate by protecting rights, addressing complaints, and offering emotional support to patients and families. Adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct, HIPAA privacy standards, OSHA training, and incident reporting procedures while maintaining professional dress and confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Educated as an LPN or RN by an approved program
- Current licensure in the state of Illinois or certification for CMA
- CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire
- Minimum 50-50% sitting vs. standing tolerance
- Minimal lifting requirements
- Occasional lifting required for orthopedics, geriatrics and internal medicine
