Job Summary

Oversee daily operations of the Fleet Maintenance department, ensuring all equipment remains safe and serviceable while enforcing preventative maintenance programs. Manage quality assurance for all maintenance activities, verify documentation accuracy from employees and vendors, and maintain parts inventory at correct efficiency levels. Provide training to team members, coordinate functional areas to meet equipment needs, and assist in decisions regarding shop efficiency and cost-effective repairs. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations while managing waste stream disposal. Support the Fleet Manager in operational oversight and prepare vehicles for transfer or disposal as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or GED) preferred
  • ASE Certified Diesel Mechanic preferred
  • 2-4 years Diagnostic, maintenance and repair of Class 7 & 8 diesel trucks and trailers. required and
  • 2-4 years Diagnostic, maintenance and repair of Material Handling Equipment and Light Duty trucks/ vans. preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to provide direction to team members in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule if needed
  • Own set of tools and understanding the best practice for how to use required tools
  • Knowledge of diagnostic tools and programs. (Cummins Insite, DTNA, WABCO, Bendix, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Document Management Systems.
