Job Summary
Fleet Technician at Nuro responsible for diagnosing and maintaining the autonomous vehicle fleet, integrating software/hardware, and ensuring peak uptime.Responsibilities include root-cause analysis of failures between autonomous software stacks and vehicle hardware; developing Python/Bash scripts to automate fleet health monitoring; deploying firmware updates and hardware modifications; authoring SOPs; leading fleet-related workstreams as a technical SME; and incident management using diagnostic tools and data logs. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, strong Linux/Unix expertise, deep sensor (Lidar/Radar/Cameras) understanding, and the ability to perform electro-mechanical work including lifting 50 lbs. Bonus points for Python/C++ scripting, HV safety EPA 609 or similar certifications, EV/AV sensor calibration experience, and familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Advanced command of Linux/Unix environments
- Ability to navigate file systems, analyze logs, and interface with hardware
- Deep understanding of hardware sensors (Lidar, Radar, Cameras) and software processing units
- Proven ability to troubleshoot non-linear problems using vehicle diagnostic equipment and software debuggers
- Ability to perform precision electromechanical work, including lifting 50 lbs
