Job Summary
Diagnose and repair electrical problems using diagnostic computers on a full range of fleet equipment including cars, trucks, backhoes, and aerial units. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs on transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, and power train elements. Execute minor road calls and emergency repairs while making body repairs, welding, and fabricating. Maintain working areas and test equipment in a clean, operating condition by following manufacturer manuals and company policies. Requires valid driver's license and CDL A eligibility, with the ability to work on-call, night, weekend, and first or second shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of one year working in related field
- Two years of an Accredited Technical school focusing on automotive work
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work in various climate and weather conditions
- Extensive manual dexterity
- Moderate lifting up to 75 lbs
- Ability to climb heights (over 50 feet)
- Ability to work in a bucket truck
- Must be able to perform on call
- Must be able to work night
- Must be able to work weekend work
- Must be able to work first or second shift
- Must possess a valid CDL A or be legally eligible to obtain a CDL A by 6-month evaluation or 6 months after turning legal age, provided classes are available
