Job Summary
Organize the shop to ensure safe and smooth fleet operations, including general maintenance, cleanup, and hazardous waste management. Coordinate ordering, pickup, and distribution of parts while lubricating equipment, applying decals, and loading/unloading delivery trucks. Safely transport fleet equipment across jobsites and yards, potentially operating power-driven equipment like forklifts and leaf blowers. Perform minor repairs as directed and code invoices with receipts for accounting. Comply with all safety rules and policies, including wearing required PPE and responding to safety concerns. Valid Class C driver's license required; full-time on-site position with competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Class C Driver's License with a clean driving record and no driving restrictions
- Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and excellent stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to access and navigate job sites and construction areas
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Must pass a drug screen and background check before beginning employment
Desired Qualifications
- Class A preferred
- Certified to operate a forklift and front-end loader
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in heavy/highway construction
- Inventory skills
- Mechanically inclined
