Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day operations of Flatbed and Heavy Haul drivers supporting rail construction and infrastructure projects in the United States; ensure safety and FMCSA/DOT compliance; coordinate transportation activities, route planning, permits, escorts; supervise and develop drivers; collaborate with customers and project teams; manage scheduling, payroll, documentation, and driver retention.
Required Qualifications
- At least three (3) years of experience in Flatbed, Heavy Haul, Specialized Transportation, Fleet Operations, or Transportation Leadership
- Experience leading drivers, dispatch personnel, or transportation operations teams
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance requirements, Hours of Service regulations, and transportation safety standards
- Experience with over-dimensional freight, permitting requirements, route planning, and escort coordination
- Understanding of equipment used in Flatbed, Heavy Haul, and specialized transportation operations (lowboys, RGNs, step decks, flatbeds, etc.)
- Experience supporting rail, construction, infrastructure, or project-based transportation operations (preferred)
- Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
- Experience with transportation management systems (e.g., McLeod TMS) (preferred)
- Brokerage or specialized freight experience (preferred)
