Fleet Specialist – Yard, Mechanic, Welding

Job Summary
Load, unload, and organize construction materials while maintaining yard cleanliness and safety. Perform mechanic, welding, and fabrication tasks including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on equipment and metal components. Operate forklifts, loaders, or other yard equipment if certified, and execute basic maintenance and minor repairs on tools. Fabricate and repair metal components per specifications, inspect welds for quality, and maintain welding equipment. Track inventory, report shortages, and ensure all safety policies and OSHA regulations are followed. Requires a valid CDL-A with Tanker endorsement, 5 years of heavy equipment experience, and proficiency with diagnostic software.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent certification in Heavy Equipment Technology or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with heavy equipment
- Valid CDL-A license with Tanker endorsement
- Proficiency with electronic diagnostic equipment and software
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, engine diagnostics, and mechanical repairs
- Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
- Ability to travel to jobsites occasionally as needed
- Must be able to work in non-air-conditioned shops and perform tasks outdoors in all weather conditions
- Regular use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Position involves physical labor, including lifting, bending, and working in tight or elevated spaces
- Position may be subject to pre-employment screening, which may include background check and drug testing
