Job Summary
Oversee operation and staff for vehicle fueling, charging, cleaning, and distribution services, managing workflows to ensure safe and efficient service line operation. Directly supervise employees on bus bill-out processes, motor pool assignments, and garage operations, enforcing departmental policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Create work orders, document service actions, and troubleshoot defects while communicating repairs and assignments to peers and management. Manage timekeeping, leave tracking, and performance evaluations for team members. Requires a valid Indiana driver's license, trade school or associate's degree in automotive or engineering, and two years of warehouse or logistics experience. This 3rd shift role (8:00 PM–6:00 AM) is fully onsite at IndyGo's Indianapolis facility.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Indiana Driver's License
- Ability to move throughout the facility to oversee operations
- Ability to perceive visual information necessary to recognize and respond to safety hazards and distinguish colors to identify vehicle fluids
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines
- Ability to work independently with work checked on a regular basis
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage tasks and time effectively
- Proficient mathematical abilities (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, and fractions)
- Must be able to effectively communicate with others and work effectively in a team environment
- Proficient in using a computer and related technology, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, the internet, software applications, and complex spreadsheets and databases
- Ability to operate laptops, tablets and two-way communication devices, office equipment, including copiers, fax machines and phones; including basic troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to process and analyze data, analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implementing recommendations
- Knowledge of safety precaution related to the work; including methods of lifting and moving heavy objects with proper equipment
- Operational knowledge of mandated safety principles related to personal protective equipment, chemical hazards, lockout/tag out and general shop safety and cleanliness practices
- Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle operations and service; this includes knowledge related to preventative maintenance, related safety guidelines/parameters, and vehicle operational systems
- Regular on-site attendance
- Position may require flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, based on operational needs
Desired Qualifications
- Formal trade school or an associate's degree in automotive, diesel or engineering program or a related field preferred
- Two (2) or more years of professional warehouse and/or logistics experience preferred
