Job Summary
Fleet Services Manager role leading hands-on mechanical maintenance and repairs for ambulances, diesel and gas vehicles, stretchers, generators, and other Fleet Services equipment. Requires supervising fleet staff, coordinating with fleet director and operations, scheduling, and ensuring OSHA safety compliance and a safe, efficient work environment. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance scheduling, diagnosing and repairing fleet vehicles, keeping vehicle locations/status updated, participating in hiring and performance reviews, and mentoring technicians. Certifications and licensure requirements include a current driver’s license, MAS/ASE air-conditioning certification, Ferno Cot Care certification, and EVT certification preferred; compliance and background checks are required. The position may require evening, night, weekend, or holiday shifts and recall for emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- BA/BS preferred or equivalent experience
- Current valid driver’s license
- Air conditioning certification through MAS or ASE
- Maintain Ferno Cot Care Certification
- Ambulance Technician certification preferred
- EVT Certification highly desired
- Satisfactory background check and MA CORI verification
- Motor vehicle driving record verification annually
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs with assistance; provide physical requirements per job
- Experience: four or more years of mechanical maintenance; three or more years of supervisory/lead experience
- Knowledge of emergency services vehicles and equipment; familiarity with Ford Transmissions E350/E450
