Job Summary
Oversee the repair, maintenance, and servicing of EMWD-owned, leased, or contracted vehicles and equipment. Lead fleet studies and proposals to meet current and long-term needs in alignment with EMWD’s plans. Manage a twelve-person Fleet Services team (six technicians, two mechanics, a service writer, an administrative assistant, one supervisor, and a manager) with a focus on integrity and customer service. Drive cost-effective maintenance programs, regulatory and certification services, asset life evaluation, and potential replacements. The role supports EMWD’s clean energy initiatives, including EV charging stations and related infrastructure, and requires strong supervisory experience in the automotive/fleet industry.
Required Qualifications
- Twelfth grade (12) or equivalent
- Five (5) years of supervisory experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance, including one (1) year in a supervisory or management capacity
- Valid California driver’s license, Class A, and ability to maintain insurability under EMWD’s Vehicle Insurance Policy within six months of hire
- Supplemental college-level courses in automotive technology, business administration, public administration, or a related field desirable
