Job Summary
Fleet Service Technician responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles and equipment, performing preventive maintenance on diesel-powered systems, and handling repairs to electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brakes, and air systems. Maintains maintenance records per company and regulatory requirements, reviews Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports, conducts safety checks, reads technical manuals, and performs emergency service calls as needed. May perform welding on vehicles and must have basic to advanced diesel knowledge, own hand tools, and strong communication. Second shift: 2:00 PM–12:00 AM; requires a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in heavy equipment/truck maintenance; automotive college/technical school background preferred; valid driver’s license; CDL and ASE certifications are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience on heavy equipment and truck maintenance
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technician position with diesel-powered equipment diagnosis and repair
- Knowledge of diesel systems including suspensions & steering; engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train
- Welding experience is a plus
- Must possess own hand tools
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and follow procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate from an accredited automotive college or technical school
- Valid Driver’s License
- Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required
- ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required
