Fleet Safety Supervisor

Job Summary
Conduct safety training, perform safety audits, and analyze safety data for the Dollar General Dedicated Fleet. Lead accident review processes, counsel drivers following incidents, and implement remedial road tests based on DOT guidelines. Manage driver file compliance with third-party vendors while ensuring adherence to FMCSA and CSA regulations. Conduct daily lot checks of tractor equipment, verify damages against DVIRs, and report findings to the shop. Facilitate semi-monthly safety meetings to build relationships with drivers and maintenance teams, evaluating performance to identify training needs. Requires two years of transportation safety experience and knowledge of Hours of Service and the SMITH System.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of Federal Motors Carriers Safety Administration, Department of Transportation, and Compliance Safety Accountability (CSA) Program
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
- Must understand paper and electronic logs, Hours of Service, and SMITH System
- Strong written communications, oral communications, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and be very detail oriented
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Microsoft Office skills
- Flexible work hours
- Must have at least two years safety training experience with a medium to large transportation company
- High School graduate or equivalent experience
Desired Qualifications
- Commercial Motor Vehicle driving experience preferred
- Two years transportation safety experience
- Classroom instruction experience preferred
- Office experience preferred
- Public speaking and/or adult education experience
- Travel required. 25%
