Fleet Safety Supervisor

Job Summary
Conduct daily lot checks of tractor equipment, verify damages against DVIRs, and report findings to the shop. Lead accident review processes, counsel drivers following incidents, and administer remedial road tests based on DOT guidelines. Manage safety orientation, ride-alongs, and post-accident procedures including BATs or drug testing. Evaluate driver safety performance to identify training needs and build relationships through semi-monthly safety meetings. Ensure full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and CSA regulations by coordinating with third-party vendors to update driver files. Requires travel, outdoor work in all weather, and two years of transportation safety experience.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of Federal Motors Carriers Safety Administration, Department of Transportation, and Compliance Safety Accountability (CSA) Program
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
- Must understand paper and electronic logs, Hours of Service, and SMITH System
- Strong written communications, oral communications, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and be very detail oriented
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Microsoft Office skills
- Flexible work hours
- Must have at least two years safety training experience with a medium to large transportation company
- High School graduate or equivalent experience
- Two years transportation safety experience
Desired Qualifications
- Commercial Motor Vehicle driving experience preferred
- Public speaking and/or adult education experience
- Classroom instruction experience preferred
- Office experience preferred
- Travel required. 25%
