Job Summary
The Mechanic in the Fleet Department is responsible for performing scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs on light and heavy trucks and cargo vans. Key responsibilities include diagnosing failures, maintaining vehicle records, performing preventative maintenance, answering road calls from drivers, and reviewing driver’s daily inspection slips. Required qualifications include a CDL license, mechanical knowledge related to various fuel types, experience with brake systems, and proficiency in diagnostic equipment. This position offers a starting pay of $33.96 and full benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Driver’s license: CDL - A or CDL - B
- Mechanical knowledge of gas, propane, and diesel repair
- Experience with hydraulic and air brake systems
- Knowledge of internal combustible engines
- Proficient in using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computer
Desired Qualifications
- ASE Certification
- Technical School experience
- Welding and fabrication experience
