Job Summary
The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing class 8 trucks and trailers, which includes hydraulic repair, brake work, electrical repairs, and welding. The role may involve performing service repairs in the field and requires the mechanic to have their own basic hand tools, while Knife River provides job-specific and large tooling. Candidates must possess prior mechanical experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a professional demeanor. The job involves following safety policies and procedures, completing necessary paperwork, and other assigned duties. Shift hours are from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am, with flexible start and finish times.
Required Qualifications
- Previous Mechanical experience on class 8 trucks and trailers
- Strong trouble shooting skills
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional exam and drug screen
- Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members
Desired Qualifications
- Welding and fabrication experience desirable
