Job Summary
Diagnose and repair truck, trailer, and yard tractor components including doors, floors, side panels, electrical, and air brake systems. Perform preventive maintenance and routine technical repairs to ensure all fleet vehicles remain compliant with federal standards and DOT inspections. Safely operate gauges, forklifts, shunt trucks, torches, grinders, and various hand and power tools while assisting drivers with outstanding vehicle issues. Maintain a clean, safe work environment by abiding by all company policies and safety rules. Conducts repairs in odd positions and under changing climatic conditions of extreme heat and cold.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work unsupervised, make decisions as needed
- Effective communicator and team player
- Heavy diesel truck and trailer mechanic skills
- Experience working with air brake, hydraulic and electrical systems
Desired Qualifications
- Prior welding and fabrication experience
- Tire repair experience (repair, mounting, dismounting)
