Job Summary
Perform basic preventative maintenance inspections and services on mechanical transportation equipment per manufacturer specifications and company guidelines. Conduct troubleshooting and minor repairs on electrical, powertrain, air, brake systems, suspension, and tires. Comply with all safety policies and regulatory requirements while utilizing required PPE and personal tools. Support team goals through additional duties as needed. Maintain a valid Class A or B CDL permit and EPA certifications within required timelines. Join Borden Dairy's Elsie's Herd to aid in safe product distribution across the company's markets.
Required Qualifications
- One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or one year of related experience/training in transportation equipment maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have or be able to obtain a Class A or B CDL permit within 6 months of hire and a valid CDL and Medical Examiner's Certificate before operating a commercial vehicle
- Must have or be able to obtain EPA Clean Air Act Section 608 Type II and Section 609 MVAC certifications within 3 months
- Must have or be able to obtain Brake Inspector Certification (FMCSA Part 396.25) and Annual Inspector Certification (FMCSA Part 396.19) within 3 months
- Must maintain a valid forklift and/or pallet jack certification as required by location
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills required
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent strongly preferred
