Job Summary
Fleet Mechanic at Fast Park in Coraopolis, PA. Perform diagnoses, repairs, and preventative maintenance on buses and related equipment, including gas/diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, A/C, DOT compliance, and record-keeping. Duties include troubleshooting vehicle systems, ordering parts, maintaining work orders, road-testing repaired vehicles, ensuring safety, and collaborating with vendors and staff. Requires hands-on experience with diagnostic tools, ability to read manuals/diagrams, and strong communication. On-site role with a hourly wage of $27-$35 and full benefits; HS diploma or GED required with certification preferred; minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Certification from automotive technical school preferred
- Minimum 3 years hands-on experience repairing and maintaining buses or similar heavy-duty vehicles
- Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in buses
- Experience with preventative maintenance tasks (oil changes, inspections, component replacements)
- Experience with diagnostic tools and software
- Knowledge of diesel exhaust system components (DPF, DEF, EGR) preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics
- Ability to maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance
- Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance (DOT)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to use hand and power tools and basic welding equipment
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding conditions
- Willingness to learn new technologies
