Job Summary
Conduct routine maintenance and perform basic repairs on trailers, diesel, and gasoline-powered vehicles, including wheel loaders, skid steers, and farm tractors. Review driver vehicle inspection reports and inspect basic components like belts, hoses, batteries, and lights. Assist in diagnosing mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and respond to roadside service calls for disabled vehicles. Maintain shop cleanliness, document work performed in fleet management systems, and participate in ongoing training and certification programs. Work under the supervision of Mechanic 2, 3, and Fleet Managers while adhering to all company safety rules and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Must have valid Driver's license
- 1+ year experience in vehicle maintenance or related technical field
- Must have personal basic tool set to perform preventative maintenance (based on location)
- Basic understanding of diesel and gasoline engine operation and components
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Experience with basic computer tasks and use of fleet software
- Detail oriented; highly organized
- The ability to competently perform all the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation

Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Class A CDL preferred, may be required based on requirements of the location
- Brake certification preferred, must be obtained within 6 months of hire date
- Vocational training preferred

- Self-starter; self-motivated
