Job Summary

Responsible for the on-site operation of the Dollar General dedicated fleet, managing the on-site fleet team and ensuring KPIs such as on-time deliveries, tractor utilization, and reverse logistics. Develops and manages the private fleet budget, leads driver training and retention, and uses the driver management tool to dispatch, track, and report results. Partners with the Sr Transportation Manager to support fleet terminals, performance indicators, and cost management, while ensuring compliance with CSA and DOT regulations. Requires 3–5 years in transportation operations, experience managing 100+ drivers, and a Bachelor’s degree (preferred); travel ~20%.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Three to five years in transportation operations
  • Experience managing dedicated fleet operations and 100+ drivers
  • Driver Dispatch Management System experience
  • FMCSA Compliance Safety Accountability (CSA) knowledge
  • DOT regulations knowledge
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem solving and innovative thinking
  • Detail-oriented, with planning and organizational skills
  • Proficient in transportation optimization software and MS Office
  • Willingness to travel ~20%
