Job Summary

Fleet Manager responsible for the full fleet of Class 8 and vocational equipment within the assigned area, overseeing maintenance and repairs for front-load, rear-load, roll-off, automated side-load, and other equipment; develop and monitor preventative maintenance schedules to maximize fleet reliability and minimize downtime; review repair orders, labor efficiency, and parts utilization to ensure cost-effective maintenance; monitor lifecycle costs and recommend replacements or refurbishments; ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA/OSHA/environmental regulations; coordinate emergency repairs and equipment recovery; manage outside vendors for quality repairs and competitive pricing; evaluate shop productivity, vehicle availability, maintenance costs, and downtime trends to drive continuous improvement; supervise Mechanics and Operational Support staff; ensure staff are trained on Class 8 truck systems, diesel diagnostics, hydraulic troubleshooting, and emerging vehicle technologies; Full-time role with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) or High School Equivalency and six (6) years of relevant work experience
  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible fleet maintenance experience with Class 8 trucks, heavy-duty diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and vocational equipment, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory or management capacity
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements: Experience utilizing fleet maintenance software and vehicle management systems; Knowledge of DOT inspection requirements, compliance standards, and maintenance recordkeeping; Extensive knowledge of Class 8 trucks, heavy-duty diesel engines, hydraulic systems, vocational truck equipment, preventative maintenance programs, diagnostic procedures, and fleet safety practices
  • Preferred Experience and Qualifications: Valid CDL A driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred
  • Other: Must possess good organizational skills and work independently.
