Job Summary
Oversee national fleet operations for East Coast Facilities, ensuring fleet readiness, maintenance coordination, regulatory compliance (DOT/FMCSA, IFTA/IRP), telematics management (Samsara), and leadership of mechanics and drivers. Own snow-season readiness, safety programs, and budget discipline, with accountability for fleet availability, safety, compliance, and performance across all branches. Direct the Lead Mechanic and Class-A Driver, coordinate with branch leadership, and maintain OMNIA records and telematics data to inform deployment, maintenance, and cost-control decisions. Proficiency in multi-state registrations, driver qualification files, and vehicle inspections, plus strong communication and leadership skills; travel nationally (25–40% typical). Spanish fluency is preferred; snow operations exposure and relevant certifications are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of fleet management experience
- Experience managing a fleet of 1,000+ units
- DOT / FMCSA compliance ownership experience, including DQF, HOS, and CSA score management
- Multi-state operations experience (IFTA, IRP, state registrations)
- Hands-on experience with a major telematics platform (Samsara preferred)
- Strong analytical and budgeting capability
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
