Job Summary
Provide technical support to assigned vessels and evaluate/select quality sub-contractors to ensure optimum fleet availability. Inspect vessels in port at least once within a six-month period and monitor Safety Management System deviations. Manage lubricants, spare parts, and store requisitions while preparing and supervising repair, conversion, and dry-docking specifications. Assist in troubleshooting machinery and evaluate onboard personnel efficiency. Develop procedures within the role's area of responsibility and demonstrate commitment to safety and environmental excellence. Requires a Chief Engineer's license or equivalent technical degree, five years of similar experience, and strong English communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- A degree from a technical institution of higher education recognized by State and National Authorities or a Chief Engineer's license.
- At least 5 years of a well-established and documented work experience in a similar position
- Excellent command of the English language
- Excellent communication skills
- Literacy in MS Office suite
