Job Summary
Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers; perform annual/systematic 90 day and HM-183 inspections on trailers to ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards. Operate a yard truck to move trailers within the facility yard and shop. Order and receive parts and supplies. Adhere to OSHA and environmental safety policies, including hazardous waste handling. Maintain clean, organized work area to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned. Requires knowledge of diesel engines, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, ability to use vehicle diagnostic software, basic computer skills, and having basic tools. Must pass background check and drug screening. Job offers competitive wages and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent vocational school
- Must possess at least 3 years of experience in the repair and service of trailers and medium-duty trucks
- Knowledge of vehicle and equipment theory, principles, and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures
- Ability to use vehicle diagnostic software
- Basic computer skills
- Must have basic tools
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
