Job Summary
Field-based Fleet Maintenance Technician role managing inspections, maintenance, and repairs of trucks and trailers at fleet locations and properties. Travel up to 50% is required; responsibilities include diagnosing and fixing vehicle issues, performing trailer-specific repairs (brakes, electrical, structural), replacing lights, tires, and installing GPS tracking units, ensuring DOT compliance and safety, and using Fleetio for documenting inspections and repairs. The candidate should have hands-on mechanical experience, pay attention to detail, and be capable of working independently in the field; a valid driver's license and ability to pass DOT medical certification and drug screening are required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT medical certification exam
- Pre-employment drug screening
- Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining trucks, trailers, or fleet vehicles
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
- Comfortable documenting inspections and repairs in fleet software (Fleetio) and GPS units (Samsara)
- Self-starter and ability to work independently
