Job Summary
Supervise a team of six technicians in the maintenance shop, conducting daily huddles, fleet walks, and coaching to ensure all preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks, containers, and heavy equipment are completed safely and in compliance with federal and state regulations. Plan and schedule repair work to reduce lost productivity, while overseeing inventory control, expense approvals, and the Dossier Maintenance Software. Perform advanced diagnostics on engine, emission, transmission, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including road testing vehicles to determine necessary repairs. Manage administrative tasks such as payroll, performance evaluations, and budget preparation, while identifying training opportunities and documenting corrective actions for continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification T3 Drive
- ASE Certification T4 Brake
- ASE Certification T5 Suspension and Steering
- ASE Certification T6 Electrical/Electronic
- ASE Certification T7 HVAC Systems
- ASE T2 Diesel Engine
- ASE T Master Certified
- 3 years of experience in maintenance working with heavy equipment
- 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role, supervisor or other management role requiring a thorough knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, OSHA and other federal and state regulations
- Shift: Monday - Friday, Start time 1:30pm until 12am
- Supervises 6 total Technicians onsite
- Lead and support a team of 5 to 6 technicians in daily operations
- Ensure all tasks are completed safely and in full compliance with regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Uphold strong communication with all levels in the organization
- Foster a safe, efficient work environment
