Job Summary
Supervise a technician team performing preventive maintenance and repairs on fleet trucks, containers, and heavy-duty equipment at a post-collection facility. Conduct daily shop huddles, fleet walks, and quality control inspections to ensure all work adheres to safety, DOT, and OSHA regulations. Plan and schedule repair work to reduce lost productivity while overseeing inventory control, expense approvals, and maintenance software records. Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations for A, B, and C-level technicians, including hiring and termination decisions in concert with HR. Manage payroll, departmental goals, and budget preparation for the maintenance shop.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification T3 Drive
- ASE Certification T4 Brake
- ASE Certification T5 Suspension and Steering
- ASE Certification T6 Electrical/Electronic
- ASE Certification T7 HVAC Systems
- ASE T2 Diesel Engine
- ASE T Master Certified
- 3 years of experience in maintenance working with heavy equipment
- 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role, supervisor or other management role requiring a thorough knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, OSHA and other federal and state regulations
