Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary
Supervise a technician team responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of a fleet, machinery supporting post-collection facilities, and container shop equipment. Provide direction to A, B, and C-level technicians to ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with federal and state regulations. Conduct daily shop huddles, fleet walks, and quality control inspections while coaching staff on performance and corrective actions. Oversee repair diagnostics, road testing vehicles, inventory control systems, and budget approvals. Manage administrative tasks including payroll, employee records, performance evaluations, and merit increase recommendations. Maintain advanced knowledge of engine, emission, transmission, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems to perform complex repairs on heavy equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification T3 Drive
- ASE Certification T4 Brake
- ASE Certification T5 Suspension and Steering
- ASE Certification T6 Electrical/Electronic
- ASE Certification T7 HVAC Systems
- ASE T2 Diesel Engine
- ASE T Master Certified
- 3 years of experience in maintenance working with heavy equipment
- 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role, supervisor or other management role requiring a thorough knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, OSHA and other federal and state regulations
