Job Summary
Implement preventative maintenance programs to maximize operational efficiency and minimize downtime while overseeing daily shop operations through assigned technicians. Forecast and manage annual operating and capital budgets, procure new fleet vehicles, and maintain parts inventory with strong vendor relationships. Lead and mentor the Fleet Maintenance team, including supervision, scheduling, training, and performance management activities. Develop safety policies ensuring OSHA compliance, resolve accident cases involving guests or employees, and coordinate with resort departments to support operational needs. Work year-round in varying weather conditions, weekends, and evenings.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in fleet maintenance, heavy equipment maintenance, or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of gas, diesel, tracked, and wheeled vehicles, preferably within a resort or similar operational environment
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills with electrical, mechanical, and powertrain systems
- Experience leading or supervising maintenance teams and coordinating shop operations
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to prioritize work based on operational needs
- Familiarity with safety standards such as OSHA, MSDS, and Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Proficiency with computer systems and maintenance record-keeping
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate snowmobiles, snowcats, heavy equipment, and other fleet vehicles
- Ability to obtain DOT/CDL endorsements if required
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of DOT recordkeeping and driver training is preferred
