Fleet Maintenance Manager

Job Summary
Oversee and manage the company's material handling equipment and vehicle fleet, ensuring all maintenance activities are efficient, within budget, and compliant with safety and regulatory standards. Directly manage third-party vendor relationships by identifying, evaluating, and selecting service providers while negotiating contracts and monitoring performance through KPIs and site visits. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime, manage emergency repairs, and control costs through rigorous budget tracking and invoice approvals. Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations by conducting regular audits and enforcing safety protocols across all vendor operations. Maintain accurate asset records, collaborate on equipment acquisitions, and prepare regular reports on maintenance activities and vendor performance for senior management.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and budget management
- Strong understanding of maintenance practices, safety regulations, and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in maintenance management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in facilities and/or fleet maintenance management, preferably in a warehousing or distribution environment
- Commercial (Class A) Driver License in accordance with DOT regulations
